RidoIT

IT work, done properly and handed back.

RidoIT is the IT and security side of Ridoco: systems and devices, privacy and hardening, networks, and websites. One person does this work. You get a written quote with a date on it, and nothing starts until you accept it.

Four lines of work

A job that spans two of them is quoted once. Buying for your home and not a business? The rate, the regions served and your rights as a private customer are on IT help at home.

Systems and devices

Cleanups, repairs, custom builds and migrations. A drive that has already failed is a separate job.

Privacy and hardening

Operating system baseline, browser and telemetry lockdown, and a backup you can restore from. Full scope on Security.

Networks

Router, firewall and Wi-Fi configured on site. The work means reaching the hardware.

Websites

Built, tested and handed over with the source files and every credential. Packages and published prices on Websites.

Systems and devices, in detail

The everyday work, quoted after a free check.

Cleanups and repairs

Slow machines, failed updates, broken drivers, storage that is filling up, and thermal problems that throttle a machine for months without ever showing an error. Repairs are quoted case by case, after the check.

Malware removal

Removed, and then the route it arrived by is traced and closed. Where the trail is already gone, rotated logs or a wiped browser history, you are told the entry point could not be proven and the likely routes are shut anyway.

Custom builds

Specified against what you actually do with the machine, with no parts bought for a workload you do not have.

Migrations

A new machine or a new operating system. Accounts, mail and data are copied across, and the new setup is checked against the old one before the old one is wiped. Licences move where the vendor's activation allows it. OEM Windows and preinstalled Office keys frequently do not, so which of yours can travel is established at the free check and named in the quote. A failing source drive is named at the check.

Hardening and networks

Closing the obvious holes, with every change given to you in writing. Cleanup after an incident, and written reviews, sit on Security.

Operating system baseline

Update policy, separated accounts, disk encryption, and secure boot where the hardware supports it.

Browser and telemetry lockdown

Tracking and telemetry turned down to what the machine needs to work, with a written record of every change and the reason for it.

Router, firewall and Wi-Fi

Guest and device separation, firewall rules that match what you actually run, and dropouts, DNS failures and port problems traced to a cause. This is on site work.

A VPN for you to get in with

Reach your own machines and files from outside without leaving a service exposed to the internet. Set up on site and handed over to you with the credentials.

How a job runs

Four steps. You know the price and the date before step three.

Free check

You describe the problem, it gets looked at, and you are told whether it is worth fixing. Only then does it come to money.

Fixed quote

Scope, price and a delivery date in writing. Website packages carry published prices. Everything else is quoted after the check.

The work

One person doing it, and the same person to ask about it. Whether your job is remote or on site is settled at the check.

Handover

A written handover note saying what was done and what it runs on, and every credential in your hands.

Remote, or on site?

Which one a job is decides what it costs and how soon it can happen.

Genuinely remote

Websites, hosting and domains. Malware removal, hardening and most troubleshooting on a machine that still boots and can get online. Account recovery, mail and licence problems, bearing in mind that whether a locked account is handed back is the provider's decision and never Ridoco's. Updates, backups and monitoring under a Care plan. There is no travel to pay for on any of it, wherever you are.

Needs someone in the room

Router, firewall and Wi-Fi work. Cabling and access points. Hardware repairs, builds and upgrades. Anything on a machine that will not boot or will not get online. Someone has to reach the device, power cycle it, and be there when a firmware update or a factory reset drops the link the work was running over.

What on site means here

Travel is one fixed amount set by your province, published below, and charged once per visit, not per hour and not per kilometre. If the travel would cost more than the job is worth, you are told that at the free check and pointed at someone closer. There is no separate callout charge: the quote is the whole price.

Where the VPN fits

A VPN is not a substitute for a visit: setting one up is itself on site work, and it is handed over to you with the credentials.

What travel to you costs

Find your province. Prices are shown including VAT, with the amount excluding VAT on every card beside it. The same bands are on IT help at home.

Travel included

Noord-Brabant, Gelderland and Limburg.

No travel charge.

Nothing is added for travel. You pay for the hours on the job and nothing else.

One flat amount

Utrecht and Overijssel.

EUR 42,35 incl. VAT for the visit. EUR 35,00 excl. VAT.

One amount for the visit, once, however long the job turns out to be. Not per hour and not per kilometre.

One flat amount

Zuid-Holland, Noord-Holland, Flevoland and Zeeland.

EUR 66,55 incl. VAT for the visit. EUR 55,00 excl. VAT.

Further out, so the amount is higher, but it is still one amount for the visit, and it is fixed in the quote.

By quotation

Friesland, Groningen, Drenthe and anywhere outside the Netherlands.

Quoted in writing first.

No flat amount is published here. For one person these provinces are a day out, not a visit. Ask and you get a figure in writing first. If the travel would cost more than the job is worth, you are told that instead of being sold a visit.

One amount per visit, agreed before the visit. You pick your province when you book an on-site visit, and the travel amount is on screen before you confirm anything.

When a disk has already failed

No outcome is promised on hardware that has already failed.

What is promised and what is not

The commitment is about method. Data is copied first, the copy is checked against the original, and nothing old is wiped until the new setup has been verified against it. What cannot be promised is an outcome that depends on hardware that has already failed: a dying or dead disk may have lost data before the machine ever arrived.

How a failed drive is handled

It is assessed first, as its own step. You are told what reads and what does not, and recovery is then quoted separately. Reading from failing media is a different job at a different price. It is quoted with no guaranteed result. If the assessment says the data is not coming back, you are told that.

Physically damaged media

A drive that has failed mechanically needs a specialist lab with a cleanroom. Ridoco does not have one and does not claim to. That work is referred out and it is expensive. You get the estimate and you decide whether the data is worth it before anything is spent.

The honest advice

Recovery is always worse value than a backup you already had. A backup proved by restoring from it costs a fraction of this and is covered on Security.

Start with a free check

Say what the machine, the network or the site is doing. You get scope, price and a date. Walk away after it if you want to. Care Plans are optional and cancellable if you would rather not think about updates and backups afterwards.
