Looked after, or not. Your choice.
A care plan is for people who would rather not think about updates, backups and expiry dates. It is optional, it cancels with 30 days notice, and nothing you already own stops working if you end it.
The three plans
Monthly, excluding 21% VAT, with the inclusive figure beneath. Care is sold by the month and billed a month in advance. Nothing is taken for a period you have not started.
Care Basis
- Hosting, SSL and domain watched
- Weekly backup
- Monthly updates
- Your site is called every fifteen minutes. Alerts on working days
- You are told before anything expires
- No reply target, this plan covers the scheduled work
Care Standard
- Daily backups
- Monthly updates
- One hour of content changes each month
- Replies are aimed at within one working day
Care+
- Weekly updates
- Three hours of changes each month, rolling over once
- Replies are aimed at the same working day
A plan is started by booking a free check. You give the address of the site and the invoice for each period is sent to you. Nothing is paid online.
What a plan covers
The work that happens whether or not you have noticed anything is wrong.
Updates on a schedule
Applied and then checked, on the interval your plan names.
Backups monitored, restores tested
A restore is actually run at a fixed interval and you get the result in writing. Where your hosting has no second slot to restore into, it is restored to separate hardware. If your plan makes even that impossible, you are told at signup and not billed for a test that cannot happen.
Expiry tracked
Domain, certificate and licence renewal dates watched, and you hear about one before it falls due. A renewal that fails on the registrar's side, on an expired card or on a certificate validation that will not pass is chased for you. The last word there belongs to the registrar and the certificate authority, not to Ridoco.
Readable in your account
My Plans shows the address being watched, when it last answered, the date of the last backup, the date of the last update and the minutes still open this period.
What a plan does not do
Three limits, stated before you sign.
It does not hold your credentials
You keep every account, every login and the domain. Nothing about the plan gives Ridoco something you cannot take back the day you cancel.
It does not auto upgrade
No tier renews into a larger one. A change to what you pay is agreed with you first, in writing.
Reply times and cancelling
Cancelling takes one email and 30 days notice.
What the reply times actually are
Care Standard aims to reply within one working day. Care+ aims to reply the same working day. Care Basis carries no reply target at all: it buys the scheduled work. All of it is counted on working days.
They are targets, not a guarantee
One person answers them and there is nobody else to pick them up, so they are aims and not guarantees.
What happens when a target is missed
Planned time away is announced before it happens. You are told a reply is going to be late before the target passes.
A missed reply target carries no automatic credit. The scheduled work is the part that does: if a month's backups, updates or monitoring were not done, that month comes off your next invoice. My Plans carries the date of the last backup, the date of the last update and the last time your site answered. You can check a month before you are billed for it.
What jumps the queue
Anything that has taken a site offline goes ahead of scheduled work, on every plan including Basis.
How to cancel
One email to contact@ridoco.com, or the form on Contact, saying you want to stop. You get it confirmed in writing.
Notice period and what you keep
Cancellation takes 30 days notice. Files are handed over and the domain transfer is started, with the authorisation code in your hands at no charge. Five working days is the aim for that, never a promise. The registrar decides how quickly the move itself completes, and a lock window on the domain can hold it up. That part is not promised as a date. Care is billed one month at a time. The month you are in is the last one you are billed for.
Not sure a plan is worth it? Ask.
Describe your setup and you will be told plainly, including when the answer is "you do not need one of these". If a plan is not enough cover for what you are running, you hear that at the check.
