Getting Started 6 questions

Describe the problem in a message. Write to contact@ridoco.com or use the form on the contact page, and say what you have now and roughly when you need it.

What comes back is the free check: whether the job is worth doing and what it would cost. If it goes ahead, the scope, the price and the delivery date are put in writing before any work starts.

No turnaround is promised here. Ridoco is one person with no cover. Planned time away is announced in advance.

The check costs nothing and carries no obligation. It is one check per customer; "How many free checks do I get?" below sets out the limit.

The problem gets looked at before anything is quoted. For a website that means your current site, your content and what the site has to achieve. For a security or systems job it means finding the cause.

You then get one of three answers, in writing:

  • A fixed price, a named delivery date and a stated number of revision rounds.
  • That the job is smaller than you thought, with the cheaper version named.
  • That it is not worth doing, or that someone else is a better fit for it. That answer costs you nothing.

One, on one problem, per customer in any twelve month period. It runs about 25 minutes and you speak to the person who would do the work.

After it, there are two ways on and both have a published price:

  • The work itself is quoted as a fixed price for a written scope, with a delivery date and the number of revision rounds named. Quoting is free and carries no obligation, however many times you come back with a job.
  • A second conversation is a paid consult: one hour at EUR 114,95 incl. VAT, which is EUR 95,00 excl. VAT, invoiced after the call. Nothing is taken when you book it. Book it at the booking page.

Come back next year with a different problem and there is a free check for that one too.

Book a second free check with the same email address and the booking page moves you to the paid consult. Nothing is charged at that point and you can close the page. If you think it has got you wrong, write to contact@ridoco.com.

It depends which website package you take. The text is the part that differs:

PackageWho writes the text
One Page, EUR 961,95You supply it.
Basic, EUR 1.754,50You supply it.
Advanced, EUR 3.932,50You supply it, then it is rewritten and structured for you.
Premium, EUR 9.075,00Written for you in full.

Beyond the text: any logo, photos or brand files you want used, access to your domain if you already have one, and a mailbox you control for the contact form to reach. If you have no logo or brand files, that is what Ridocr is for, and it is discussed at the check.

Also someone on your side who can say yes. A revision round only closes when a decision is made.

No build time is published for any of the four packages. Every package carries a delivery date, named on your quote. It is set once the quote is accepted and the material you owe is in. It is a target, not a guaranteed date. One person builds these.

You get a message the moment that date looks like moving. If your text arrives two weeks late the date moves by two weeks, and you are told when it happens.

Branding runs in stages, each quoted with its own date and its own number of revision rounds. See Ridocr.

Then it is quoted as itself. The packages exist because most website jobs really are a one pager, a five page site or a twelve page site, so publishing the price saves everyone a phone call. Security work, systems work, networks and anything physical are quoted after the free check. A price for malware removal before seeing the machine would be a guess.

Branding is sold in named stages for the same reason: you can stop after any stage and you still own everything produced up to that point.

Prices and Invoicing 5 questions

Four fixed packages, all including 21% VAT, with the figure excluding it beside each one:

Branding is sold in four named stages. Prices include 21% VAT:

StageIncl. VATExcl. VATWhat it is
BriefEUR 544,50EUR 450Audience, positioning, tone, and every surface the mark has to survive. Credited in full against the Mark.
MarkEUR 1.754,50EUR 1.450Logo and wordmark, all cuts, light and dark, three revision rounds, rights transferred. EUR 2.299,00 incl. VAT (EUR 1.900 excl.) if taken without a Brief.
SystemEUR 1.512,50EUR 1.250Colour and type systems with written guidelines a stranger can follow.
Applicationsfrom EUR 356,95from EUR 295 per pieceStationery, social templates, signage, packaging. Common sets: stationery EUR 1.082,95, social EUR 840,95.

Brief, Mark and System together come to EUR 3.811,50 incl. VAT, EUR 3.150,00 excl. That total is the same whether or not you start with the Brief. Its EUR 544,50 comes off the Mark instead of being charged on top. Full detail is on the Ridocr page.

Yes, for the scope written in the quote. The price, the delivery date and the number of revision rounds are agreed in writing before any work begins, and none of the three moves afterwards because the work turned out harder than expected.

What does change the price is you changing the job: extra pages, a fourth revision round on a package that includes three, a rewrite of content that was signed off. In that case you get a new figure in writing and you decide, before it is done.

Ridoco is a registered Dutch company in Cuijk. Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number 95439609, VAT identification number (btw-identificatienummer) NL005153257B49.

Every price published on this site includes 21% VAT, with the figure excluding it shown beside it. So EUR 961,95 is what you pay if VAT applies to you and EUR 795 is the same amount without it. A month of Care is EUR 119,79, or EUR 99 without it.

Yes. Websites, security, systems and branding are mostly remote work. Correspondence is in Dutch or English.

Two limits:

  • On site work depends on your region. Hardware, cabling, repairs and anything physical mean somebody coming to you. The regions served, and the travel amount for each, are published on IT help at home, and any travel is named in the quote.
  • The contract is Dutch. Ridoco is a Dutch company, invoices in euro, and Dutch law applies. See the legal notice.

On VAT: a business elsewhere in the EU with a valid VAT number is normally invoiced with VAT reverse charged, and outside the EU Dutch VAT normally does not apply. Which rule applies to you is confirmed on the quote, before you commit.

Care Plans and Hosting 6 questions

A Care plan is the looking after that happens once a site is live: updates, backups, monitoring and a named reply target. Three levels, monthly, including 21% VAT:

PlanIncl. VATExcl. VATWhat it covers
Care BasisEUR 47,19EUR 39Hosting, SSL and domain watched. Weekly backup. Monthly updates. Uptime monitoring that raises an alert on working days, not overnight.
Care StandardEUR 119,79EUR 99Daily backups, monthly updates, one hour of content changes each month, and a reply target of one working day.
Care+EUR 240,79EUR 199Weekly updates, three hours of changes each month that roll over once, and a reply target of the same working day.

The reply times are targets on working days, not a guaranteed desk. One person answers them. The scheduled work in the table happens either way. If a reply is going to miss its target you are told, and a month where it is badly missed is a month you are not billed for.

Some packages include Care already: Basic comes with 3 months of Care Basis, Advanced with 12 months of Care Standard, and Premium with 12 months of Care+. After the included period, continuing is your choice and not automatic.

No. A Care plan is optional: your site keeps working and the files stay yours whether you take one or not.

What you give up is the looking after: monitoring, tested backups, updates being applied, and a reply target when you need something.

The service stops.

  • Your site keeps running. Nothing is switched off because a subscription ended.
  • The files stay yours. Ownership was settled at handover.
  • Backups, updates and monitoring stop. An unpatched site drifts towards being a security problem.
  • Included hours stop. The content changes bundled into Care Standard and Care+ end with the plan. Work after that is quoted per job.

If hosting is billed through Ridoco, that is a separate arrangement and it does not end automatically with the Care plan. Say the word and the files are handed over and the domain transfer is started with the authorisation code in your hands, at no charge. The target is 5 working days, not a guaranteed date.

A Care plan cancels with 30 days notice. No reason needed and no exit fee. Files are handed over, and the domain transfer started with the authorisation code given to you, at no charge. The target is 5 working days, not a guaranteed date. How long the registrars take to complete the move is set by them.

A fixed price project is a different kind of agreement. Scope, price and delivery date are put in writing before any work starts, and what happens if either side wants to stop partway is written into that same agreement.

Each branding stage is bought on its own: stop after the Brief or after the Mark and you still own everything produced up to that point.

Hosting can be arranged as part of a project. There is no self service hosting product and no published hosting price. Hosting is quoted with the rest of the job.

You can also host it yourself. A site built by RidoIT is standard code and needs nothing from Ridoco to keep running. If Ridoco does host it, that is a service you pay for and can cancel, and the files and domain come with you when you go.

The domain sits in your name, or it is managed for you if you would rather not deal with a registrar. Either way it is yours and you can request a transfer at any time.

If you already own a domain, it stays where it is unless you ask otherwise, and you keep the registrar account. A domain held for you is never a reason you cannot leave: the transfer is started and the authorisation code given to you at no charge. The target is 5 working days, not a guaranteed date. Completing the move is the registrars' part, and a domain registered or transferred in the last 60 days sits in an ICANN lock that has to run out first.

Ownership and Handover 3 questions

You do. The source files of a website are yours at handover, and branding files come with full usage rights transferred to you on final payment.

You get the high resolution output with transparent backgrounds, in every cut of the mark, plus the editable working files wherever the piece was built in a tool that produces one.

What you do not get is vector outlines. Vector conversion for large format print, signage, embroidery or cutting is not sold here, because it is not work this company can reliably deliver. If your printer needs vector, say so at the free check: you are told before you have paid for anything, and pointed at someone who does it.

Handover is a step in the job. You get:

  • Every credential in your hands.
  • The source files. For branding, the high resolution output and print ready artwork, plus the editable working files wherever the piece was built in a tool that produces one.
  • A written handover note: what was built, what it runs on, and what was changed along the way.
  • One walkthrough session so you can edit the site yourself. Work after it is quoted like any other work.

Yes, and it is built on the assumption that one day someone will. Sites are built on standard code, not a private system only Ridoco can open, so any competent developer can read it, host it and continue it.

You already hold what a successor needs: source files, credentials and the written handover note.

Working With One Person 4 questions

Yes. It is an eenmanszaak in Cuijk, KvK 95439609, which is the Dutch form for a business with a single owner and no staff. The person who reads your email is the person doing the work and the person answerable for it.

Two divisions sell work: RidoIT for IT, security and websites, and Ridocr for brand identity and design. They are registered trade names of the same one person company, not separate firms.

There is no second person to cover. Care Standard carries a reply target of one working day and Care+ a target of the same working day, and both are targets from one person with no standby cover behind them.

What protects you is what you already hold:

  • Nothing you own depends on Ridoco being available. The source files are yours, the build is standard code any developer can pick up, and every credential was handed to you at handover.
  • Domain and hosting are never a hostage. If either is held for you, you can request a transfer at any time and the authorisation code is released at no charge. The target is 5 working days, not a guarantee. You can also hold the domain in your own registrar account from the start, which costs you nothing and is offered on every job. Once a code is with you, the registrars set how long the move takes, and a domain inside a lock window has to wait that window out.
  • You are told where telling you is possible. If a reply target you are paying for is going to be missed, you hear that, and that month of the plan is credited either way. If nothing comes at all, the credit still stands when the plan is next billed, and you should use the credentials you already hold.
  • Urgent work that cannot wait is said out loud. If a site is down or there is a security incident that cannot be handled right now, you are told, so you can put it in someone else's hands using the credentials you already have.

Sometimes you should, and you will be told so at the free check.

An agency has four specialists. For a 5 to 25 page website, most of what that buys is coordination between them, and you pay for the coordination. For a platform with an app and a payment engine behind it, those four specialists are the point. Hire the agency for that one.

One person means less capacity. The work is quoted at a fixed price with a named date, and the person who quoted it is the person doing it.

  • Large platform builds. A product with its own app and payment engine needs a team.
  • Open ended hourly work. Project work is quoted as a fixed price for a written scope. On site repair work for private customers is charged by the hour, but against an estimate you have agreed first, and going past it needs your say-so: see IT help at home.
  • On site work in every province. Remote covers most software, security and website work. Anything physical means somebody travelling to you, and three provinces plus everywhere outside the Netherlands are by quotation. No band is published for those.
  • Work that is not worth doing. If the answer is a cheaper fix, or no fix at all, that is the answer you get at the check.
