Password Generator

Creates strong random passwords and tells you how hard each one would be to guess.

This tool runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is uploaded, transmitted or stored anywhere.

Common questions

Are these passwords ever sent anywhere?
No. They are generated in your browser using the operating system's cryptographic random number generator, and they are not stored or transmitted.
How long should a password be?
Twenty characters or more with mixed character types is comfortably strong for anything. The strength reading below the results tells you how much guessing work each one represents.
What does the strength rating mean?
It is the number of bits of entropy, which is a measure of how many guesses an attacker would need. Above 80 bits is very strong.
