A site or a system that nobody maintains does not stay still, it degrades. Care plans exist so that maintenance is somebody's job rather than something you remember after it breaks.
Three plans, at EUR 47,19, EUR 119,79 and EUR 240,79 a month incl. VAT. Every one of them covers updates, backups, and monitoring, and every one of them carries a response target that is written into the plan rather than implied.
Two details that usually go unsaid:
- Backups are tested by restoring them. A backup nobody has ever restored is a hope, not a backup.
- You can leave. Domains and hosting can sit in your name or be managed for you, and you can request a transfer at any time. The authorisation code is released within 5 working days at no charge, and the registrars set how long the move itself then takes.
