IT help at home
You do not need a company to book this. Slow machines, viruses, a new computer with everything moved across, Wi-Fi that keeps dropping. One person comes out, does the work, and tells you what it will cost before starting.
The jobs people actually call about
Written for one machine and one household. Buying for a business? IT services is the page for that, and the terms differ in ways set out further down.
It has got slow
A machine that takes four minutes to reach the desktop is usually several small things at once: a disk with nothing left on it, twenty programmes starting with the computer, an update that failed months ago, or a fan so full of dust the machine throttles itself to stay cool. The work is finding which of those it is.
Pop-ups, warnings and things you did not install
Removed, and then the way in is traced and closed. Sometimes the trail is already gone. Logs rotate and browsers clear themselves. You are told so, and the likely ways in are shut anyway. If money or an account was involved, you are told which passwords to change and in which order.
A new computer, set up properly
Your files, photos, mail and browser favourites moved across, and the new machine checked against the old one before the old one is wiped. Licences come too where the maker allows it. An OEM Windows key or a preinstalled Office often cannot be moved at all, so yours is checked first and you are told what will need buying.
Wi-Fi that keeps dropping
Traced in the rooms where it fails. Somebody has to be standing in them. Router and network settings sorted, and the children's devices separated from yours if you want.
Printers, phones and tablets
Small jobs, and they are quoted as small jobs: the printer that will not join the network, the tablet nobody can sign into any more.
Photos and files you cannot lose
A backup proved by actually restoring from it. The restore is run on your machine, or onto separate hardware where there is no room on yours.
What it costs
Private customers pay the price with VAT in it. That is the figure shown large. The net figure is underneath, for comparing with a business quote.
Hourly rate
Including 21% VAT
- You are told how many hours the job should take before it starts
- Going past that estimate needs you to agree to it first, in writing
- Parts, if any are needed, are priced separately and shown to you before they are bought
- Travel is either included or a single flat amount, depending on your province. See the next section.
Remote help
Quoted before it starts
- Works for most software, account, mail and licence problems
- Needs a machine that still starts and can still get online
- No travel to pay for, wherever you are
- Anything physical, and anything on a machine that will not boot, has to be on site
The free check costs nothing and commits you to nothing. The price and the time are agreed before the work starts. There is no open ended hourly work here: an estimate you have agreed to is the ceiling, and you are asked before it moves.
Regions served
Find your province. Prices for private customers are shown with VAT in them, and the net figure is underneath.
Travel included
Noord-Brabant, Gelderland and Limburg.
No travel charge.
Nothing is added for travel. You pay for the hours on the job and nothing else.
One flat amount
Utrecht and Overijssel.
EUR 42,35 incl. VAT for the visit. EUR 35,00 excl. VAT.
One amount for the visit, once, however long the job turns out to be. Not per hour and not per kilometre.
One flat amount
Zuid-Holland, Noord-Holland, Flevoland and Zeeland.
EUR 66,55 incl. VAT for the visit. EUR 55,00 excl. VAT.
Further out, so the amount is higher, but it is still one amount for the visit and it is still fixed before you agree to anything.
By quotation
Friesland, Groningen, Drenthe and anywhere outside the Netherlands.
Quoted in writing first.
No flat amount is published here. For one person these provinces are a day out, not a visit. Ask and you get a figure in writing first. If the travel would cost more than the job is worth, you are told that instead of being sold a visit.
Remote work has no travel to pay for. You pick your province when you book an on-site visit and the amount is shown to you there, before you agree to anything.
Your rights as a private customer
These are rights you have by law. A private customer has them and a business customer does not.
Fourteen days to change your mind
If you agree to a job at a distance, by phone, email, or through this website, you have 14 days to withdraw without giving any reason and without penalty. The fourteen days run from the day the agreement is made, not from the day the work starts. This is a statutory right and nothing Ridoco writes anywhere can shorten it or make you sign it away.
How to use it
Use the withdrawal form on this site: withdraw from an agreement. It needs no account and asks for nothing beyond enough to identify the agreement. An email to contact@ridoco.com works just as well. Sending it on the last day is in time.
If you want the work to start inside those fourteen days
You can ask for that. If you then withdraw, you owe a proportionate amount for the work actually done by the moment you said so, measured against the agreed price. Not the whole price, and not a cancellation fee. Your right only ends once the job is fully finished, and only if you had both asked for the early start and been told, at the time, that finishing it would end the right. Work merely being underway ends nothing.
Businesses do not have this
The statutory right of withdrawal is a consumer right. If you are buying for a company, a foundation, or your own trade, the agreement is governed by what was quoted and agreed in writing instead. If you are a sole trader buying something genuinely unconnected to your trade, say so and it is treated as a private purchase.
Prices on this page
Every figure aimed at you on this page includes 21% VAT. That is what you actually pay. Where a net figure appears beside it, it is labelled excl. VAT and it is there for comparison, not as the price. You get a proper invoice from a registered Dutch company either way.
Where to read the whole thing
The full text, including what happens to money already paid and how a monthly plan is cancelled, is on Withdrawal and cancellation. That page is the one that counts; this band is a summary of it and does not replace it.
If the disk has already failed
No outcome is promised on hardware that has already failed.
What is promised and what is not
The promise is about method. Data is copied first, the copy is checked against the original, and nothing old is wiped until the new setup has been verified against it. What cannot be promised is a result that depends on hardware that has already failed: a dying or dead disk may have lost data before the machine ever arrived.
How a failed drive is handled
It is assessed first, as its own step. You are told what reads and what does not, and recovery is then quoted separately. Reading from failing media is a different job at a different price. It is quoted with no guaranteed result. If the assessment says the data is not coming back, you are told that.
Physically damaged drives
A drive that has failed mechanically needs a specialist lab with a cleanroom. Ridoco does not have one and does not claim to. That work is referred out and it is expensive. You get the estimate and you decide whether the data is worth it before a cent is spent.
The honest advice
Recovery is always worse value than a backup you already had. A backup proved by restoring from it is about an hour of the rate above.
How a visit runs
Four steps, and you know the price and the province band before step three.
Say what it is doing
By phone, by email, or through the booking form. No jargon needed: "it is slow" is a good enough description to start from.
Free check
Costs nothing and commits you to nothing. You are told whether it is worth fixing, whether it can be done remotely, and what it will cost, including any travel amount for your province.
The work
One person, at the agreed time, for the agreed hours. If it turns out to be bigger than the estimate, the work stops and you are asked before it carries on.
Handover
A short written note of what was changed, every password and account left in your hands, and an invoice from a registered Dutch company with the VAT shown on it.
One person does this work. It happens in weekday hours, Dutch time, and you are told when to expect an answer. If you need somebody the same hour, say so at the start and you get an honest answer on whether that is possible.
Start with the free check
Describe what the machine is doing. You get a price, a time, and the travel amount for your province. Booking the work after that is your call. Buying for a business instead? IT services is the page for that.
